On May 2, 2010, Music City was deluged by record rains and every part of the city was flooded. It was the most expensive natural disaster in Middle Tennessee, and one of the costliest non-hurricane disasters in United States history. With 12 inches of water at their corporate headquarters and power disabled to the office, the staff of Cherry Heart hit the streets to give back. To give back some of their hearts.

On May 4, members of the Cherry Heart team spent the day volunteering at the Riverwalk community in Bellevue, one of the hardest hit in the Middle Tennessee area. They removed insulation and drywall and gave a little extra muscle to a community flooded in principle but not in spirit. The Cherry Heart team, lead by Creative Director Cassandra Tormes and Office Manager Cerissa Frey (seen in the photo below), hit the streets and were transformed with a spirit of so much more work to be done.

In May, the Cherry Heart team will sponsor a “May Mixer For A Cause” at their offices, continuing to support the cleanup efforts of their beloved community.

Tour sponsorships can be an integral part of an artist’s overall marketing plan to ensure viability and reach a broader range of audiences. They are at their most successful when the brand truly represents the passion of the artist. PEDIGREE on behalf of the PEDIGREE Foundation was approached by Cherry Heart Entertainment Marketing with the idea to sponsor Carrie Underwood's 2010 "Play On" tour.

Carrie UnderwoodMs. Underwood’s documented passion for animals has been a recurring theme in her rise as a super star in the entertainment industry. She has donated her time, money and resources to help countless causes benefiting animals in the past few years. This passion makes for a truly dynamic and meaningful partnership for both parties. Raising awareness for homeless dogs and helping to raise money for countless shelters across America is a cause marketing partnership that is a natural fit for both Carrie and The PEDIGREE Foundation.

Cherry Heart worked directly with the brand to deliver their ideas and directives to the artist’s agent and was involved throughout the process of executing this tour sponsorship agreement. With a strong knowledge of building integral strategic partnerships brought to the process and years of experience in the entertainment business, Cherry Heart was able to help deliver a strong and meaningful partnership: a collaboration that that will resonate with audiences, deliver new impressions to the brand, and most importantly, help save the lives of dogs.

Bill Shore and David Wills join in as Fifty-six award-winning songwriters and performers unite for historical three-disc release: This Is My America Recounts History of America with All-star Cast

Cherry Heart's Bill Shore and David Wills along with Brian White contribute two collaborations for This Is My America.

Fifty-six award-winning, American songwriters and performers have united to tell the history of the United States in a musically unprecedented, three-disc concept album called This Is My America.

This is My america

Developed by Canadian producer Douglas Hutton, This Is My America employs songs and spoken narratives to chronicle a timeline of significant events that helped to shape the path of American history.

"The 'star' of this project is a place called America," says Hutton, executive producer and president of King Motion Picture Corporation. "Portraits of the American experience have been expressed and distributed through film, television, recordings and countless literary works, but I wanted to tell it in a more inventive way that respects and reflects today's American values. What better way to do that, than through the international language of music?"

This is My America

The epic set features an impressive array of some of Nashville's most talented singers and songwriters, including dozens of award-winning Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI) composers, such as Charlie Black, Rory Bourke, Beth Nielsen Chapman, Roxie Dean, Steve Dean, Matt King, J Fred Knobloch, Wood Newton, Tim Ryan, Bill Shore, Sharon Vaughn, Jon Vezner, Jim Weatherly, Brian White, Lynn Wilbanks and David Wills.

Dolly Parton, Kathy Mattea, Charley Pride, Mark O'Connor, Billy Dean, the Nashville Symphony and the Fisk Jubilee Singers are just a few of the performers that contributed to one of the most expensive projects ever recorded in Nashville.

"This is My America is simply one of the most amazing projects the Nashville Songwriters Association International has had the privilege to be involved with," says NSAI Executive Director Bart Herbison. "The music is incredible, the stories are amazing, and the concept is fabulous."

This Is My America chronologically spans more than 500 years of American history, touching on Native American themes, European exploration, Western settlement, and specific events such as the arrival of the Mayflower, the California Gold Rush, the Civil War, World War I and II and the recent tragedy of Sept. 11, 2001.

The three-disc set, beautifully designed by artist Rollow Welch, is currently available online at
